How We Use Your Data

  • Authenticate your account and manage your license
  • Validate your license status when you use the app
  • Process payments, issue invoices, and manage licenses
  • Improve our software based on usage patterns (if usage data sharing is enabled)
  • Fix bugs and errors based on error reports
  • Send important updates and notifications about your account
  • Comply with legal obligations

Data Storage

Server-Side Storage

Account and license data are stored on secure servers in a managed database. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and license tokens are encrypted at rest.

Local Storage

The Clippat desktop application stores settings locally on your device, including:

  • Application preferences
  • API keys for third-party services (encrypted using Electron safeStorage)
  • License tokens (encrypted)
  • Project and output folder paths

API keys and license tokens are encrypted and never transmitted in plain text.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account and license data for as long as your account remains active. Optional usage data and submitted error reports are retained to diagnose issues and improve the application; you can delete all usage data linked to your account at any time from your dashboard. When you confirm an account deletion request, your account, license, usage data, error reports, and associated log files are permanently deleted.
